The 2nd Battalion Signal Section pose for a photograph.

Tommy Haddock, the photograph's owner, has named some of the men.

Signaller H. Biggins is one of those standing at the rear, along with two unidentified soldiers.

To the left on the standing row are Lance Corporal E. Moore and Lance Corporal Le Page.  Five of the next 6 men are Signallers F. Robinson, H. Lovatt, Bunce, C. Ainsworth and N. Clarke.  One is unidentified.  The two on the right of this row are Lance Corporal L. Plant and on the end Corporal W. Hargreaves.

Sitting are Signallers E. Worthington, 'Shag' Cooper, A. Taylor, H. Buxton and an unidentified soldier.  Signaller 'Pug' Hirst is 2nd from the left, Lieutenant J. Horner wears the black tie, and Sergeant H. Dignan is sitting next to him witht he three stripes on his sleeve.

Tommy is seated on the ground on the right.  The other seated soldier is unknown.

Tommy had seen combat in the final weeks of the First World War.  He survived the Spanish flu pandemic and continued in the Army until March 1922.  He rejoined the Territorial Army in 1928 and served with the 8th Battalion until 1943, including the siege of Malta.  He was a dedicated Old Comrade and regularly attended Regimental events until he died in May 1989, aged 90.
